Please note that this is a conversion/bolt-on course and delegates must have passed the NEBOSH NGC1 or NG1 exam within the previous 5 years.

Timings

Timings for the delivery of the course will be from 09:00 to @ 17:00 daily; a lunch break and several short refreshment breaks will be included throughout the day.

Have I Chosen the Right Course for Me?

This qualification provides the underpinning knowledge required by people with fire safety responsibilities at work. It is particularly relevant for those who contribute to or review fire risk assessments within low to medium risk workplaces.


For many who already have responsibility for other compliance issues, such as health and safety or environmental management, gaining specialist knowledge of fire safety can further expand their capabilities and help bring success and advancement to their career. The same applies to others in general management positions in the workplace.

What Does the Qualification Cover?

The qualification is divided into two units, each of which is assessed separately:

Fire Safety and Risk Management (FC1)

Practical Fire Risk Assessment (FC2)

Assessments

The FC1 assessment is a classroom-based invigilated exam.

An FC2 practical risk assessment assignment is to be produced based on findings in your own workplace, the practical must be submitted within 10 days of the last day of the FC1 element.

NEBOSH Certificate courses are Level 3 qualifications which are equivalent to an A-Level. As such you will experience an intensive learning experience, so to assist, you should make sure that your diary is as clear as possible. You are advised to negotiate some ‘breathing space’ with your employer and family etc. in which to undertake your revision and to complete the assessments.

Certification

Those who successfully complete the course and pass the assessments are awarded the official NEBOSH National Certificate in in Occupational Health and Safety. Certificates are forwarded to the candidate by us approximately 16 weeks after completion of the course although results are usually issued within 12 weeks.

Due consideration will be considered for persons with physical or learning impairments and reasonable adjustments made wherever possible. Please inform us if you have any such impairment at least 6 weeks prior to the start of the course and please note that this must be backed up with written evidence from a recognised body/professional and be no older than 5-years prior to the exam.

Unfortunately, as the classroom is located on the first floor and with no lift facility, delegates with certain physical impairments may find it access challenging.

Examination Postponement

We reserve the right to not enter any candidate for a NEBOSH exam due to poor attendance

If you are unable to attend a session, it is your responsibility to read the relevant chapters in the textbook.

We reserve the right to not enter any candidate for a NEBOSH exam due to poor mock exam results, this may be open for discussion with individual candidates depending on their abilities and commitment and a new proposed date for sitting the exam can be agreed upon.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however, it is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.

NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.
